Job Overview: 

  • Working with the Finance Department, the primary role of the Finance Officer Assistant is to perform a variety of tasks relating to the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Payroll functions
  • Preference will be given to applications received from Six Nations and other First Nation residents

Role and Responsibility:

  • Assisting with the preparation, verification, and entry of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
  • Assisting with the preparation and verification of client invoices and follow up for collection of payment
  • Assisting with the biweekly Payroll entry, verification, and periodic reconciliations
  • Assisting with the annual audit process
  • Assisting with any other duties as required
  • Scanning, storing, updating, and retrieving financial data
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Participate and foster effective team environment
  • A high level of initiative and self-motivation
  • Work independently ensuring completion of necessary tasks in a time sensitive manner
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years experience working in a Finance role
  • Certificate and/or Diploma in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field is preferred
  • Working knowledge of Sage 300 (Accpac)
  • Working knowledge of Excel
  • Strong communication skills
  • Must be bondable
  • Strict confidentiality must be recognized and maintained at all times

Hours of Work:

  • Up to 35 hours per week
